VIDEOTAPE TRANSFER

We take your videotapes and copy them to DVD and/or digital movie files.
One videotape to one DVD and/or file from start of tape to end of tape - up to 2hrs
in length. Some VHS tapes can run up to 6 hrs, depending on the speed they were recorded, these would require more than one DVD per tape.

  • We process the tape for the best possible picture quality, but shaky camera,
    out of focus grandkids and old shows recorded from antenna tv, we have no control over.

  • Some of the older videotapes are deteriorating and might not play. We have a
    baking process that may make them playable one more time to capture your memories - we will advise if you need this done

  • Each DVD is labelled with information from the tape, and each file is named.

  • The digital movie files are playable on PC or MAC and are delivered online or
    on client’s USB thumb drive or hard drive.

  • The DVD's are playable in standard DVD players, BluRay players and computers.

FILM TRANSFER

We send clients to our recommended film transfer facility. We have had a very successful relationship with them for the last 4 years, great attention to detail
and the same amount of privacy.

8mm,16mm and 35mm transferred digital file.

Splice repair and leader on older film available.

Color Correction, Noise Reduction and sound transfer available.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Loose, packets or albums - all scanned to high resolution JPEG files at 600-1200 dpi.

Dust removal and standard color correction fixes most of the issues with older photos.

Extra level color correction, manipulation, red eye removal, minor restoration all available.

Titles, names, dates on photograph are shown as the file name.

JPEG files are placed on USB thumb drive or portable hard drive.

Slideshow movies can be made from collections - see below

SLIDES or NEGATIVES

All scanned to high resolution JPEG files at 600-4000 dpi.

Hand cleaned - dust removal and standard color correction fixes most issues.

Extra level color correction, manipulation, red eye removal, minor restoration are available.

Slides are numbered corresponding to the order in trays or carousels.

Negative strips are numbered from the strip.

JPEG files are placed on USB thumb drive or portable hard drive.

AUDIO CASSETTES

Cassettes are copied to CD or audio file.

Either to MP3, WAV or AIFF files

CD's hold approx one hour of music - audio cassettes can hold 45mins each
side so more than one CD may be needed. Audio files will hold the full length of
the tape.

CD's are labelled with the title from the cassette or reel.

Titles, names, dates are shown as the file name.

WHAT WE CAN DO WITH YOUR MEDIA

  • DVD - a standard DVD playable in DVD players and computers with disc drives,
    can be duplicated for multiple copies.

  • Digital Movie File - a Quicktime MP4 file that is placed on a USB drive or portable hard drive. The file can be played on a PC or a MAC computer using any of the players on the computer - usually Windows Media Player on a PC or Quicktime Player on a MAC or many other software players. Also playable on tablets. Files can be duplicated without quality loss.

  • USB "Thumb" Drive - small portable drive that stores the movie files and/or JPEGS or MP3 audio files and allows you to copy them to your computer.

  • Portable Hard Drive - a larger capacity drive that can hold entire collections of archived media. For safety and security many customers copy their archive to one or more portable hard drives as well as keeping a copy on their computer.

  • JPEG Files - from scanned photos or slides viewable on all computers. From one high resolution file, alternate versions can be made smaller for email or phone etc.

  • SLIDESHOW - JPEG files can be arranged into a SLIDESHOW movie. An easy way to view a collection of photographs. The images play consecutively for a few seconds each, with transitions in between. The slideshow can be presented on a DVD or as a DIGITAL MOVIE FILE ( see above ) for viewing.

  • MOVIES IN THE CLOUD - Movie files can be uploaded to an online site ( Google Drive, etc ) in a private secure space which can be shared via a link sent to invitees only.
    They may be downloaded or just viewed online depending on the settings.

  • PHOTOS IN THE CLOUD - Photo collections are uploaded to private, secure
    web pages. A personal link is provided which can be shared with family members or colleagues. Photos may be viewed and/or downloaded from the site in their original high quality.

  • Audio CD - playable in CD/DVD players, computers with disc drives, cars and portable players.

  • MP3 Audio files - playable on computers, phones, ipods, tablets, MP3 players.

NEW WAYS OF PLAYING YOUR MEDIA

  • APPLE TV, AIRPLAY, CHROMECAST - Digital Movie Files and Slideshow
    movies can be streamed from your laptop, phone or computer to the TV using these technologies.

  • TELEVISIONS WITH USB PORT - USB drives can be inserted and the TV
    software will play your JPEG files in a slideshow format.
